Who is Hippie Sabotage?

Hippie Sabotage is an electronic duo made up of brothers Kevin and Jeff Saurer. They started out making music together at home and eventually built a following through their mix of mellow, hazy production and heavy bass. A lot of people first heard them through their remix of Tove Lo’s “Habits (Stay High),” but over time they have developed a sound and fanbase that is very much their own.

The Concert & Give and Take Tour

At the Showbox, the night took a while to settle in. People drifted around, checking phones, grabbing drinks, squeezing closer to the stage when there was space, you could feel the anticipation. When the duo finally came out, the reaction was explosive.

What makes Hippie Sabotage stand out live is how unfiltered everything feels. They do not try to smooth out the edges. Songs stretch, drop, and rebuild in ways that feel spontaneous, like they are following the moment instead of a set plan. When “Devil Eyes” came on, the whole crowd lit up, shouting every word back at them. It was not just a highlight, it felt like a shared release. The visuals added to that dreamlike vibe, waves of color and shifting patterns that made it easy to lose track of time. At points, it felt almost meditative, and then suddenly the bass would kick back in and pull everyone right back into the chaos. That push and pull is really their sweet spot. It was not a perfect show, and it did not need to be. The beauty of it was in how real it felt, messy in places, but alive the whole time. By the end of the night, as the last notes faded and people slowly came back to themselves, there was this sense that everyone had just gone through something together. That is what Hippie Sabotage does best. They do not just play music, they create a feeling you carry with you long after you leave.
